MSc, MA, LPCC, Founder of Starling Psychotherapy

Katie is a psychotherapist dedicated to walking alongside clients as they navigate life’s complexities. From moments of rupture to those quiet, internal calls for something more. With warmth, depth, and presence, she helps individuals explore their inner world, reconnect with personal meaning, and move toward a more integrated sense of self.

She holds a Master of Science from the University of Edinburgh and a Master of Arts from Naropa University, where she trained in contemplative and transpersonal therapeutic practices. Her clinical work is grounded in person-centered and holistic frameworks, integrating existential, Gestalt, narrative, and transpersonal modalities. This approach allows her to meet each client as a whole person: intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually.

Katie has a particular affinity for working with those in transition: individuals questioning identity or purpose, facing relational or professional change, or sensing the quiet dissonance that comes when old ways of being no longer fit. Her style is relational, intuitive, and spacious, inviting clients to slow down, listen inward, and cultivate the resilience and clarity needed to move forward.

Above all, Katie offers a therapeutic space that honors the courage it takes to seek support. With compassion and curiosity, she holds room for complexity, invites authenticity, and supports each client in unfolding their own path to wholeness.

our work is guided by the following values:

Respect for lived experience

Your history, context, and nervous system matter. We work in ways that are trauma-informed, paced, and responsive, without defining you by what you’ve been through.

Presence before technique

While we draw from many therapeutic modalities, the foundation of our work is relational: attunement, collaboration, and embodied presence.

Innate capacity and wholeness

We do not view people as broken. We believe each person contains the resources needed for clarity, resilience, and meaningful engagement with life.

Flexibility over fixed identity

We gently challenge rigid ideas about self, diagnosis, and experience, supporting clients in expanding choice and perspective.

Growth through awareness and inquiry

Rather than “fixing,” therapy focuses on awareness, reflection, and exploration—including existential and philosophical inquiry into meaning, values, freedom, and responsibility.
